Interior Fit-Out Dimensions and Coverages

Inside finished rooms the sizes are standard: 95–125 mm partitions, 2,040 mm doors, worktops at 850–920 mm and paint at 10–14 m² per litre.

Internal partitions are commonly built from 70–100 mm metal studs with 12.5 mm gypsum board fixed to each side. The finished wall thickness lands at 95–125 mm, which is the number that matters for room sizes and corridor widths.

A standard interior door leaf is 800–900 mm wide and 2,040 mm high. It hangs in a rough opening of 900–1,000 mm, which is set out during the partition stage — long before the leaf itself arrives on site.

Kitchen dimensions are equally fixed. Base cabinets are 600 mm deep, the worktop sits at 850–920 mm, and the splashback runs 450–600 mm above the worktop; together these three figures set the heights for sockets, plumbing and wall cabinets.

Electrical fit-out follows standard cable and breaker sizes: socket circuits use 2.5 mm² copper on a 16–20 A breaker, and lighting circuits use 1.5 mm² on a 10–16 A breaker.

Paint is ordered by coverage, not by guesswork. Interior emulsion covers 10–14 m² per litre per coat, so 100 m² of wall needs 14–20 litres for the standard two coats.

These dimensions slot into the wider build sequence described in the construction process guide, and their timing within the programme is set out in the stage-by-stage build timeline.
